Letha Darr, 83, Brookfield, passed away Monday September 19, 2011 at McLarney Manor Skilled Nursing Facility Brookfield. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday September 24, 2011 in Parklawn Memorial Cemetery, Brookfield with Pastor David Blakely officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm Friday September 23, 2011 with family receiving friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield. Memorial donations have been suggested to McLarney Manor Skilled Nursing Facility Activity Fund and may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, 216 Linn Street, Brookfield, Missouri 64628. Letha May was born on May 12, 1928 in Marceline, daughter of Harvey Richard and Carlotta Bailey Linebaugh. On November 19, 1950 she married Bobby Kenneth Sportsman at Marceline. He passed away on February 11, 1980. She is survived by six children, Lois and husband Clarence York, Shawnee, Ok; Mike Sportsman, Brookfield; Kenny and wife Carol Sportsman, Brookfield; David and wife Teresa Sportsman, Mike; Ronnie and wife Melinda Sportsman, Kansas City; Debbie and husband Randy Wade, Brookfield; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert and wife Pat Linebaugh, Mesquite, Tx; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Letha was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Shirley Bowen; three brothers, Harvey, Ike and Orville Linebaugh; and one sister, Viola Linebaugh.
