Merlin Elmer Byler, 62 of Capron, Virginia passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021 in Capron, Virginia. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am. Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the Locust Creek Mennonite Church with Brother Glen Bender officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. prior to the funeral service. After the funeral service, there will be a brief time of viewing to any who missed the visitation. Merlin is survived by his daughter, Natasha and husband Chris Baseflug, Tomball, Texas; one sister, Carolyn and husband Floyd Jones of Fairfield, Montana; two grandchildren; two aunts, Edna and husband David Gingerich of Linneus, Missouri; and Arlene and husband Stanley Schlabach of Monticello, Kentucky; one uncle, Milo Yutzy of Linneus, Missouri; one great aunt, Clara Frey of Plain City, Ohio; a cousin of noteworthy recognition, Clair and Naomi Zimmerman of South Carolina; four nieces and four nephews. Merlin was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Adam and Tillie (Yoder) Byler and Homer and Ada (Frey) Yutzy, five aunts, and two uncles.
