Velma Louise (Windsor) Douglas; age 79 of Brookfield died Friday, April 29, 2022 at NorthCare Hospice House in Kansas City MO. Surrounded by Family and Pastor Charlie Velma Louise, daughter of John Leroy and Alta Ann (Gash) Windsor was born July 25, 1942 in Sumner MO. On October 7, 1961 Velma married the love of her life Charles Ray Douglas. Together they had one son Milton (Andy) Andrew Douglas. Velma worked at the Pioneer Kitchen and cleaned houses. She enjoyed playing solitaire, doing crosswords, reading, and watching game shows. She loved spending time with loved ones and friends. Velma was a proud member of the Royal Neighbors, American Legion Auxiliary, and United Methodist Women. Survivors include one son: Andy and Danni Douglas of Rothville; grandchildren: Kimberly Douglas, Traci and Kennith Batye, Bobbi Stanfield, Cassi Douglas, and Ken and Haileigh Stanfield all of Brookfield and Teri Stanfield and fiance Zack Buckallew of Chillicothe; great grandchildren; Kypton, Sarah, Hoyt, and Madilyn Batye and Wylde Buckallew. Several Nieces, Nephews, family members, and beloved friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Ray, her parents, two sisters: Caddie Ann Windsor and Evelyn Wanamaker, eight brothers: John, Charley, Claude, Daniel, Norman, J.W., Marvin, and Oscar Windsor Funeral services will be held at the Sumner United Methodist Church, Sumner, MO. on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 10:00 am. with Pastor Charles Littrell officiating. Visitation will be held at the Sumner United Methodist Church, Sumner, MO. on Thursday, May 5, 2022, from 6:00 pm. to 8:00 pm. with family receiving friends at that time. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery, Sumner, MO. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO.
