Dolores Lucille (Cordray) Jacobs

Dolores Lucille (Cordray) Jacobs, 93 of Brookfield, MO; passed away peacefully Monday, November 4, 2024, at Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center in Marceline surrounded by her family. Dolores, youngest daughter of Harvey Ray and Alpha Edith (Swisegood) Cordray was born on May 11, 1931, in North Salem, MO. On September 3, 1948, she was united in marriage to Carl Rayburn Jacobs in Laclede, MO. He preceded her in death on April 17, 2009. They were married for 60 years. Dolores loved dancing, garage sales, gardening, working search puzzles, reading, sewing, and making jewelry. She was always ready to go for car rides, right after she changed her clothes and put lipstick on. She and Carletta had some great adventures together on their road trips. Dolores never met a stranger and always had a kind word and smile for everyone. She was devoted to her family and friends, always helping anyway she could. Her home was always open to everyone, you would have a glass of tea and a cookie in your hand before you knew it. Nobody was ever hungry in her home. She will be remembered for her laugh, smile, kindness, and love. Dolores is survived by her two children, Lindell Jacobs and wife Toni of Marceline, MO. and Carol Lutes and husband Pat of Brookfield, MO; three grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Amy Rowles and husband Kevin of Hallsville, MO; Sara Sanders and husband Brian of Forest Green, MO; and Jacob Lutes of Brunswick, MO; two great grandchildren, Margaret Lucille and Clinton Leo Sanders; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, Keith Cordray and Roy Cordray, two sisters, Vergie Carey and Evelyn Smith Galbraith, and sister-in-law, Carletta Shiflett. Funeral services will be held at Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO. on Friday November 8, 2024, at 1:00 pm. with Reverend Jeremy Blackburn officiating. Burial will be in North Salem Cemetery, North Salem, MO. Visitation will be held at Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO. on Friday November 8, 2024, from 12:00 pm. until the time of the service at 1:00 pm.
