John Michael Paalhar

John Michael Paalhar, age 66, of Brookfield, MO; passed away Friday, February 2, 2024, at his home with his family by his side. John Michael was born the son of William Henry and Frances Ann (Golden) Paalhar on February 10, 1957, in Brookfield, MO. He was a 1975 graduate of Marceline High School. On June 22, 2013, he was united in marriage to Ronda Jacobs in Brookfield, MO. John was raised and lived on the family Paalhar farm. He enjoyed farming and checking on the cattle they raised. John in his spare time would like to get away and go to the hunting cabin where he could go hunting and fishing. He liked listening to music, going dancing, and from time to time he would help DJing with Johnny Newman. But most of all John loved his family and spending time with them. John was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Church and the Knights of Columbus in Brookfield; a board member for the Marceline Township for over 30 years; and was in the Jaycees in Marceline for many years. John worked for the Brookfield Township for several years as a maintainer operator. John is survived by his wife Ronda of the home; three step children, Ricky Elam and Candy of New Cambria, MO; Robert Elam and wife Carrie of New Cambria, MO; and Ryan Elam of Brookfield, MO; his mother, Frances Ann Paalhar of Brookfield, MO; four siblings, William Paalhar and wife Cherrie of Brookfield, MO; Beth Ann Kearns and husband James of Marceline, MO; David Paalhar and wife Sheila of Brookfield, MO; and Dennis Paalhar and wife Sarah of Brookfield, MO; uncle, Kevin Golden of Brookfield, MO; aunt Mindy Britton of Brookfield, MO; and several step grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, William H. Paalhar; grandparents, Francies and Pearl Steland, Andrew and Violet Golden, and John H. and Mary C. (Dickinson) Paalhar. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Brookfield, MO; from 6:00 pm. to 8:00 pm. with a Rosary to start at 5:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Brookfield, MO; at 11:00 am. with Father Jerry Kaimann and Father Paschal Ihediohamma officiating. Burial will be in the Saint Michaels Cemetery, Brookfield, MO. Arrangements are under the direction of Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO.
