Kenneth Martin Burns

Kenneth Martin Burns, age 94, of Brookfield, MO. passed away on Tuesday, August 30th, 2022 at McLarney Manor in Brookfield, MO. Kenneth Martin was born the second of three sons to Alpha and Mildred (Sheen) Burns on February 18th, 1928 in Brookfield, MO. He was a graduate of Brookfield High School. He married Dorothy Francis Cunningham who preceded him in death. After serving in the U.S. Army he returned to the family farm. He was a member of the First Christian Church, served on the Brookfield R-III School Board, Linn County Balanced Farming and Grantsville Township Board. His passion was training and showing American Saddlebred Horses and raising cattle. He enjoyed square dancing and playing cards. Survivors include his wife Martha, one brother, Ellis Burns, three children, daughter, Judy Watson, son, Clarke (Penny), and daughter, Connie Clawson (Scotty) all of Brookfield, eight grandchildren, Tracy Niedermeyer, Debra Bishop (Steve), Patrick Niedermeyer, Shelbie Alexander (Will), Whitney Badoer (Dominique), Kellie Brungard (Jamie), Alex Clawson (Breanne), and Lucas Burns, ten great grandchildren include Shannon Bishop, Austin Bishop, Cooper Niedermeyer, Lanie Hill, Payslie Alexander, Trace Alexander, Max Alexander, Elliott Clawson, Evelyn Clawson, and Sofia Badoer, and several other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Dorothy, one son, Kenneth Martin Burns, one brother, John Burns, and second wife, Priscilla. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am. Tuesday, September 6th, 2022 at the First Christian Church in Brookfield, MO. with Pastor Tom Parks officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 6th, 2022 at the First Christian Church in Brookfield, MO. with family receiving friends from 9:30 am. until the time of the Celebration of Life service at 11:00 am. Burial will in the Rosehill Cemetery with full Military Honors provided by the Brookfield VFW Post # 4557. Services are under the direction of the Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO.
