Reverend Charles A. Martin, 82, Laclede, died Monday February 21, 2011 at McLarney Manor Skilled Nursing Facility, Brookfield. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday February 26, 2011 at the Caldwell Street Baptist Church, Brookfield, with Pastor Richard Davis and Pastor Frank Bolin officiating. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Cemetery, Brookfield. Visitation will begin at noon Friday February 25, 2011 at Caldwell Street Baptist Church with family receiving friends from 6 pm to 8 pm that evening. Memorials have been suggested to Shiloh Christian Childrens Ranch, God's Garden Church or Caldwell Street Baptist Church and can be left at or mailed to Rhodes Funeral Home, 216 Linn Street, Brookfield, Missouri 64628. On Saturday March 5, 2011 there will be a Celebration of Life from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Faith Baptist Church in Knoxville, Ia. Charles Arthur was born on May 21, 1928 in Knoxville, Ia., son of Idris Harry and Mary Irene (Worrall) Martin. On August 22, 1948 he was married to Marilyn Darlene Booth in Pleasantville, Ia. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Missouri. He had been a Baptist Minister for over 40 years. Reverend Martin is survived by his wife Marilyn of the home in Laclede.
