Christopher Paul Cates, 27, Brookfield, died Monday December 27, 2010 approximately three miles East of Linneus. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday January 2, 2011 at Rhodes Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Adrian officiating. Visitation to follow the service. Memorials have been suggested to the family and may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, 216 Linn Street, Brookfield, Missouri 64628. Christopher Paul was born on December 30, 1982 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, son of James Bartley and Kathleen Phyllis (Jones) Cates. He married Stephanie Edde on April 30, 2005 in Brookfield. Christopher is survived by his wife, Stephanie, of the home. Two sons; Nathaniel and Nolan Cates of the home. One daughter, Brennah Cates, of the home. Father, James Bartley Cates, Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Mother and step-father, Kathleen Phyllis and Tom Grannis, Everett, Washington. One sister; Sarah and Nash Vigil, Thornton, Colorado. Three brothers, Michael Cates, Bartlesville, Toby and Elisha Cates, Bartlesville, and J.J. Cates, Bartlesville. Also surviving are his grandpa Cates, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceding Christopher in death were his grandma Cates and grandma and grandpa Jones.
