Edwin E. Smith, age 75, of Brookfield, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on April 7, 2018 at Rhodes Funeral Home with Pastor Ted Stockwell officiating. Burial will follow at Bear Branch Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on April 7, 2018 at Rhodes Funeral Home. Memorials have been suggested to Bear Branch Methodist Church and may be sent to or left at the funeral home. On-line registry at www.rhodesfh.com Edwin E., son of James Benjamin Smith and Bertha Frances (Gall) Smith was born January 31, 1943 in St. Charles, MO. He retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad on December 13, 2002, where he was a conductor for many years. He was a member of Bear Branch Methodist Church and Back Road Cruizers car club. He enjoyed showing cars, going to gun & knife shows, spending time with his family, and spoiling his cat "Fluffy." He is survived by two sons, Raymond Scott Smith, and wife Sherri, of Browning, MO, and James E. Smith, Ottawa, IL; his grandchildren, Rachel Nevitt, and husband Derrick, Austin, TX; and James B. Smith, Louisville, KY; two great-grandchildren, Charlee Nevitt, and Chesney Nevitt, Austin, TX; as well as several other family members and friends. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Roger Stanton Smith.
