Cynthia Ann (Sportsman) Mosley

Cynthia Ann (Sportsman) Mosley, age 71, of Palmyra, MO; passed away Sunday morning, June 8, 2025, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, MO. Cynthia Ann was born on December 15, 1953, in Brookfield, MO; she was the 6th child of 10, to Donald Gene and Bonnie Estella (Adams) Sportsman. Cynthia went to Brookfield High School, she quit in 9th grade, but in 2009 she got her GED. Then she went on and got her CMA at Vatterott Collage in Quincy, Ill. She worked at Brown Shoe Company in Brookfield for 12 years, Dura in Brookfield and Hannibal for 15 years total, and then 8 years at Watlow Electric in Hannibal until she retired. Cynthia married David Henry Doss on December 12, 1969, then she married Edward Daniel Baker on October 2, 1976, then married Jeffrey Dean Mosley on May 5, 1984, and then she has been with her significant other, Steven Reddick since 2014. Cynthia loved to shop, listening to John Lennon and the Beatles, tending to her flowers, bird watching, and she dearly loved her cat, Thomas. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, but she loved playing dice with her kids, grandkids, and her late sister Sue. Cynthia is survived by her three children, Catherine Barnett of Macon, MO; David (Angie) Doss Jr. of Kansas City, MO; and Aaron (Wendi) Baker of Brookfield, MO; twelve grandchildren, Katie, Kalie (Jeff), Joshua (Misty), Zachary, Alyssa (Jordan), Kaden, Josh, Michael, Gage, Ryson, Gracie, and Riggs; twelve great-grandchildren, Bryleigh, Colt, River, Oliver, Jaxon, Colt, Tate, Harper, Hunter, Tiffany, Spencer, and Blake; Cynthia’s significant other, Steven Reddick of Palmyra, MO; one step-sister, Connie (Vernon) Heath of Brookfield, MO; and several other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Ronnie Sportsman, James “Jimmy” Sportsman, Philip Sportsman, Donald Sportsman, and Steven Sportsman; four sisters, Cheryl Guyer, Linda Blodgett, Carolyn Russell, and Sue Teter; and one great-grandson, Hudson Kai Weaver. A Celebration of Cynthia’s life will be held at 2:00 pm. Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the Rhodes Funeral Home in Brookfield, MO; with Pastor David Blakely officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Garden Cemetery in Brookfield, MO. Vastation will be held at the Rhodes Funeral Home in Brookfield, MO; on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, with family receiving friends from 1:00 pm. until the time of the service at 2:00pm. Arrangements entrusted to the care and direction of Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO.
