Dale Floyd

Dale Floyd, 65 of Purdin, Missouri, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022. Dale was born the son of Elba Sylvester and Gladys Fern (Lacer) Floyd on November 17, 1956 in Kirksville, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Tammy Cordray on May 20, 1977 in Browning, Missouri and to this union they had two boys Greg and Jamie. Dale had lived all his life in the Shelby and Purdin area, farming and running his gravel truck business. Dale loved collecting cars and trucks and his boys said he liked gathering cars and trucks. He enjoyed going to Mac’s Cove at Thomas Hill Lake every weekend in the summer hanging out with his friends and spending time in the water. Dale and Tammy’s greatest enjoyment was traveling in the winter cold months to tropical islands. His favorite place to go was the Breathless Resort in the Dominican Republic. Deep sea fishing was something he had done in both oceans, the caribbean, and the gulf of Mexico. He loved enjoying his grandchildren and doing things with his sons and family. Survivors include his wife Tammy of the home; two sons, Greg Floyd of Purdin, MO; and Jamie Floyd and Sam of Browning, MO; one brother, Gary Floyd and Betty of La Plata, MO; mother-in-law Helen Fields and Charles of Brookfield, MO; four sister-in-law’s, Terri Cordray and Bobby of St. Catherine, MO; Tena Snyder and Gene of Browning, MO; Vickie Felitsky and Tony of the Lake of the Ozarks; and Vinsesia Brosdahl and Eric of Purdin, MO; two grandchildren, John and Parker Floyd; and several nieces, nephews, and relatives. Dale was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Norma Ralston; and father-in-law and mother-in-law Edwin and Mary Cordray. Graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm. Friday, October 14, 2022 at Knifong Cemetery, Browning, MO; with Norman Penton officiating. A scheduled Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm. to 8:00 pm. on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO. In lieu of flowers memorial donation can be made to the Linn County R-1 FFA and can be left at or mailed to the Rhodes Funeral Home, 216 Linn Street, Brookfield, MO. 64628.
