John Edward Farrenkopf

On Sunday, February 2, 2020, John Edward Farrenkopf, loving son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away at the age of 88 in Brookfield, Missouri. John was born on February 17, 1931 in Brookfield, Missouri to Hubert Charles and Elsie Mae (McCune) Farrenkopf. He graduated from the Brookfield High School in 1949. In 1952 he was drafted into the Army and was stationed in Alaska. John worked at Brown Shoe Company, Whitaker Cable, Walsworth, and Beaches. John was a wonderful man, he cared for his family when they needed him, like taking his aunt and niece to work. John had a passion for hunting and fishing. He would stay at “The Place” in Sumner and would take his nieces and nephews hunting. He loved the outdoors and shared his time with family. John had a three wheeler and a dune buggy, and the family enjoyed riding them with him. John also loved to read books, and he probably read every book in the library twice. He loved to listen to the radio, the news, programs, and especially Big Band music. John had a quick wit and liked to give his advice and opinion about many topics. He had a smile and snicker that was loved by all. John is survived by his sister Carolyn (Farrenkopf) Davolt and husband JC and a brother Buck Farrenkopf and wife Mary. Several nieces and nephews, Kelly (Davolt) Wulff and husband John and their children, Bradley, Brandon, Lindsey, and Brady; Kristi (Davolt) Hern; John Phillip Davolt and wife Nina and their children, Emma and John Price; of Columbia; Nathan Farrenkopf and wife Lori, and their children Caleb, Karcyn, Grifyn, and Maecyn; of Brookfield and Kansas City; Alicia (Farrenkopf) Rojas and husband Bryon, and their children, Mikaela, Isabela, and Gabriela, of New Boston; Jenny (Farrenkopf) Drummond and husband Charles, and their children, Marina and Marissa, of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Hubert and Elsie Farrenkopf Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the First Christian Church, Brookfield, Missouri. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm. Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the First Christian Church, Brookfield, Missouri, with Reverend Mandy Wiedeman officiating. Burial will be in the St. Michael’s Cemetery, Brookfield, Missouri, with full Military Honors.
