Joyce Dianne Morris

Joyce Dianne Morris, age 73, of Brookfield, MO. passed away Friday, December 1, 2023, at her home. Diane, daughter of Buel Archie Brobst and Venita Helen (Christian) Brobst was born on January 17, 1950, in Brookfield, Missouri. Diane attended school in Brookfield and graduated in 1968. Diane worked at several local businesses over the years, including Whitaker Cable and UMB Bank, before joining the Brookfield Housing Authority. She had recently started her 41st year with the Housing Authority. She provided many years of service to the National Association of Housing Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO), the Southwest National Association of Housing Redevelopment Officials, the Missouri Association of Housing Redevelopment Officials, and the Missouri Housing Authorities Property & Casualty Risk Management Group during her tenure at the Housing Authority. Diane enjoyed reading, a good movie or TV series, family dinners, gardening, home improvement projects, mowing the lawn, animals of any kind, and her annual Christmas bingo game with her family. She loved her grandkids and cherished every moment she was able to spend with them. Diane had recently adopted a rescue kitten named Loki, who she spoiled daily. Diane had a huge heart and impacted many people’s lives. She was the “rock” of her family and could be counted on in any situation. Diane is survived by her two sons, Russell Morris of Kansas City, KS; and Daniel Morris of Brookfield, MO; four grandchildren, Jarrett Morris of Maryville, MO; Evan Morris of Brookfield, MO; Chase Morris of Brookfield, MO; and Taryn Morris of Brookfield, MO; one sister, Debra Wessing and husband Kenny of Ankeny, IA; one brother, Edward (Chuck) Brobst and wife Renee of Kansas City, MO; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Buel Brobst and Venita Brobst Ray; two sisters, Marcella Belzer and Janette Teeter. The family wishes to invite family, friends, and former colleagues to join them in remembering Diane, for a graveside service at 1:00 pm. Saturday, August 31, 2024, in the Botts Cemetery, Meadville, MO. with Pastor David Blakley officiating. Services are under the direction of Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO.
