Kenneth (Ken) Lee Walker

Kenneth (Ken) Lee Walker, of Brookfield, passed away peacefully January 29, 2025, at 1:54 pm. He was surrounded by his family at the Livingston Manor Care Center in Chillicothe, MO. Ken was born on May 15th, 1943, to Frank Meredith and Flossie Belle (King) Walker in Eugene, Oregon. Both parents preceded him in death. Ken was the youngest of six children and is survived by one brother, Frank Walker Jr. and sister-in-law, Elaine Walker. Ken met his loving wife, Leony Walker, through being “pen-pals”. They were united in marriage on March 13th, 1996 in Hong Kong. They were married for 29 years and to this union they had two children, Jonathan and Catherine (Kate) Walker. Ken made a career out of construction contracting and later went on to own his own business. His true passion laid in his faith, as he devoutly attended the Marceline Church of God 7th Day. Ken was a minister, evangelist, and missionary director who loved reading the Bible and studying the Word of God. His passion was to spread the gospel: seen not only through his actions, but by his favorite verse as well: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15) Ken wrote and publish many articles for the Missouri Watchman. With out fear, hesitation, or doubt in God’s protection, Ken traveled twice to the Philippines and four time to Africa (Ghana and Nigeria) on mission trips. Ken is survived by his wife Leony; sons, Jonathan Walker, Daniel Walker, and Michael Walker; daughters, Kate Walker, Toni Bennett, Dena Kauer, and Anne Marie Wardle; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 1:00 pm. until 2:30 pm. at the Rhodes Funeral Home in Brookfield, MO. Grave side service will follow in the Parklawn Memorial Garden Cemetery, Brookfield, MO; with Pastor Steve Boone officiating.
