Linda Gayle Mosley

Linda Mosley, 81 of Brookfield passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at North Kansas City Hospital. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm. Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at the Park Baptist Church, Brookfield, MO; until the time of the Funeral Services beginning at 2:00 pm. with Pastor David Blakely officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Brookfield, MO. We are recommending social distancing of 6 feet apart and to wear a mask. Online condolences can be made at www.rhodesfh.com Linda was born April 12, 1939 in St. Louis, MO to William Bryce Wood and Willo Wanda Haney. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Harold Harwood; husband, Charles Lee Mosley; son, Michael Brian Mosley; and brother, Gary B. Wood. In 1963, Linda married Charles Lee Mosley. They raised children Michael Brian Mosley, Lorri LeAnn Mosley Crandall of Fairway, KS; Jeffery Keith Mosley of Mechanicsburg, IL; Kristin BeLinda Mosley of Moberly, MO; and Steven Jonathan Mosley of Independence, MO. Linda is survived by her brother Keith (wife Melinda) and children: Lorri (husband Steve), Jeffery (wife Shelley), Kristin, and Steven (wife Lisa). Nieces and Nephews: Greg Mosley, Lisa Mosley Young, Paula Mosley Krawl, David Mosley, Mary Anntoinette Wood Hawthorne, Kathy Wood Prestley, Angela Wood-Zuzevich, Sharon Mass Bennett, Stacie Carleton White, Christopher Wood, Erin Wood, and Ashlea Wood Costello. Grandchildren: Ashley Ann Lawrence Perrin (husband Matthew), Amy LeAnn Lawrence (boyfriend Jordan), Margaret Lacy Mosley, Charles Robert Mosley, Alexander Dean Mosley, and Grant Cooper Mosley. Step-Grandchildren: Lindsay Rene’ Witte and Dustin Shane Witte (wife Nichole). Great-Grandchildren: Jackie Cooper Perrin, Reighlynn Elizabeth Champagne, Laney Mae Witte, Lacey Rae Witte, and Levi Shane Witte. Linda was a lifelong member of Park Baptist Church, graduated from Brookfield High School in 1957, and studied at Northeast Missouri State University, then at North Central Missouri College, later in life. Linda worked as a secretary at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, and managed her husband Charles’ construction business in Brookfield for many years. She retired from Walsworth Publishing after 25 years as a proofreader and editor. Most recently, she worked at Stanbury Uniforms. Linda joined the Hannah Hull Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1968. Over the years, she served as Corresponding Secretary, Historian, Chapter Recording Secretary, and Chapter Registrar (2011 to present). She served on the Rose Hill Cemetery board, and was a member of the Eastern Star and Lady Elks. She enjoyed being a leader for the Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts and participating in the activities of her children and grandchildren. Linda enjoyed playing cards with multiple clubs, throughout her entire life. Life, like a game of cards, is an exercise in making the best hand you can out of the cards you are dealt. Linda was an expert at that. Her life was like that perfect night of cards, where you are able to play the cards your partner needs, and they feed you the ones that you’re looking to be played. You bluff your way through the hands that you need to, and move past the bad hands to the next. You laugh and joke and enjoy the people around you, and make memories that last a lifetime, and into the next.
