Minnie Claire Jacobs

Minnie Claire Jacobs, age 82, of Chillicothe, MO; passed away Friday, May 26, 2023 at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, MO. Minnie Claire was born the daughter of Harold Frederick and Thelma May (Miller) Armstrong on July 30, 1940, in Brookfield, MO. Minnie married Kenneth Wayne Mitchell on April 19, 1959, and to this union they had three daughters, Judith, Debra, and Jeanne. Then on May 6, 1977 Minnie married John Hoover Jacobs in Laclede, MO; and to this union they adopted Mark when he was two years old. John preceded her in death on May 27, 2007. Minnie was a Girl Scout leader when her girls were young. She liked to play the piano and she even tried to teach her girls how to play. Minnie loved to sew and embroider things for her family. All the kids and grandkids received a new pillowcase with their name on it. She enjoyed coloring in adult coloring books and painting. Minnie loved spending time with her family. Minnie is survived by her four children, Judith Ann Davis of Columbia, MO; Debra Sue Pergande and Rodger of Purdin, MO; Jeanne Rae Mitchell of Chillicothe, MO; and Mark Anthony Jacobs of Purdin, MO; twelve grandchildren, Sarah Halgren and Rachael, Chris Gravitt and Tasha, Daniel Singleton and Melissa, David Singleton, Dustin Singleton and Jennifer, Marcus Shaw, Harlan Mitchell, Jacqueline Marriott and Curtis, Susan Thompson and Gus, Shiloh Edwards, Mackenzie Springer, and Anthony Jacobs and Shelby; twenty-three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Leroy Armstrong. Funeral service will be held at the Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO; at 11:00 am. Thursday, June 1, 2023, with Pastor David Blakley officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 with family receiving friends from 6:00 pm. to 8:00 pm. at Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO. Burial will be in the Purdin Cemetery, Purdin, MO.
