Rosalee York

Rosalee York, 89, of Brookfield, passed away peacefully in her home in Brookfield, MO surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, March 9, 2024. Rosalee was born on July 26, 1934 to Forrest and Ruth Ellen Russell in Huntington Park, CA. In 1952, Rosalee married Curtis L. Rogers in CA. Then in 1960 Rosalee married Charles “Charlie” Fredrick York Sr. in Las Vegas, NV. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2006. Our Mom loved her yard and flowers, and her favorite thing to do was to go shopping for flowers and going to Hobby Lobby. Rosalee loved being with her family and could not wait for weekend drives. Rosalee had 6 children that she treasured and they her. She also loved her grandchildren and couldn’t wait for special occasions to get them together. Rosalee is survived by her children, Sue Ellen Rogers of Browning, MO; Chuck and Cheri York of Brookfield, MO; Teresa and Cris Moorshead of Kansas City, MO; and Lisa and Paul Werning of Browning, MO; her grandkids, Kathy and Eric Purvis of Clio IA, Andrew and Stephanie Werning of Lee Summitt, MO; Heather and Tommy Fiala of Marceline, MO; and Dr. Abby York of Oklahoma City, OK; her great grandkids, Cooper and Lucas Werning, Tessie and Isaac Purvis, and Emilia and Dovelyn Fiala; and several other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth Ellen and Forrest Russell; husband, Charles F. York Sr.; son, Mike Rogers; infant son, Forrest Lee York, and many brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held at Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO; at 11:00 am. Wednesday, March 13, 2024, with Tom Brammer officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Brookfield, MO. Visitation will be held at Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO; on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, with family receiving friends from 10:00 am. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Family, for their choice of charities in care of Sue Rogers and can be left at or mailed to Rhodes Funeral Home, 216 Linn Street, Brookfield, MO. 64628.
